Sian Dear

My career started out as a Zoo keeper, where I cared for rhinos, elephants, chimpanzees and a menagerie of beautiful birds. This passion led me to veterinary nursing, which started at the zoo where I was lucky enough to accompany famous Zoo vet David Taylor in his daily rounds treating tiger cubs to dolphins. I was veterinary nursing for 14 years, and after having children, we had a stint living in Australia where I returned to the Zoo environment, working with native Australian animals in wide ranging safari style zoo.

We returned to England where I took a position as Practice Manager in a large veterinary hospital for both small animals and horses where I spent many happy years managing a great team but I left my comfort zone for a new challenge as Operations Manager at Fitzpatrick Referrals, where I gained some useful experience.

I returned closer to home to work alongside the friendly team at Hill Tops Vets where we are all proud to be independent and offer the best health care to our clients and their pets.
I have a Springer spaniel, boxer cross and a horse, who keep me very busy outside of work, as well as a house we are renovating and a garden that demands my attention too!
